Written paper:effect of political satire on how the American public views politics.Essential Question: To what effect (if any) does political satire on television have on the way Americans view politics?Thesis: Dissatisfied with the mainstream media, Americans are increasingly turning to political satire as a way to keep themselves informed on developments in politics.1. What I will do for my project is research and analyze how political satire on television affects viewer perceptions of politcans and political issues. From there I will film several scenes in the style of a Saturday Night Live skit. In order to accomplish I will work with Mrs. Marlene Thornton to create, edit, and polish up said scenes. In addition, I will be working with several students to film the scenes, who will be cast at a later date. 
 
2. The products that will result from my work will be a collection of scenes that satirize American politics. These will be shown during my presentation and will show that I understand the nature of political saitire. 
 
3. In order to complete the project I will spend the remainder of the first marking period writing my scenes. After that I will cast the various parts in my show and I hope to wrap up filming early in the third marking period. From there, I will edit the scenes into my presentation in a way that is insightful and engaging. 
 
4. In order to complete my project I will need to utilize the High School Stage and as well as several of the props that are currently on the stage (such as podiums, desk, flag etc.). I might also need to utlilize the resources of Mr. Meder's television production room for the movie editing, as the program on my computer might not be well suited to this task ( I intend to discuss this with him shortly). I will also need a cast of about 5 to 10 students, who will audition for roles in the scenes.
